Bernie Rubin Passes Away After Battle With COVID-19

Bernie Rubin, Founder of Bernie and Phyl’s, passed away on Monday, April 13th, after a battle with COVID-19. He was 82 years old.
Rubin opened the furniture store with his wife Phyllis in 1983, eventually expanding to nine stores in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine.
In a statement posted on the Bernie & Phyls website, his family writes “He was one in a million. He was honest, hard-working, fair and, above
all, loved his family – which included his entire extended Bernie &
Phyl’s family. He will be greatly missed”.
Rubin and his wife starred in the chain’s commercials for over two decades with the tagline “Quality, Comfort and Price (That’s Nice!)”.
Rubin is survived by Phyllis and his children Larry, Michelle and Rob.
