Bob’s Discount Furniture Donates $264,000 to Hunger-Relief Organizations
In celebration of the upcoming holidays, Bob’s Discount Furniture recently announced a donation of $264,000 to food pantries and hunger-relief programs within its markets throughout the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest and West Coast. An organization near each of the 122 Bob’s Discount Furniture stores, 5 distribution centers, and 5 future store locations will receive a $2,000 donation from the furniture retailer.
“During this season of giving, we are excited to support food pantries in our communities for the sixth year in a row,” said Bob Kaufman, president emeritus and co-founder of Bob’s Discount Furniture. “We know that many people struggle to feed their families and we’re hoping these donations help provide meals to those in need during this holiday season.”
Throughout the year, the Bob’s Discount Furniture Charitable Foundation supports many children and youth service organizations. As the holidays approach, the retailer will spread its charitable arm to support those in need, providing necessary funds to local food pantries in the fight to end hunger.
“On behalf of Forgotten Harvest, I thank you for your generous donation this Holiday season. This donation will help us feed the people that are suffering from hunger and food insecurity in Metro Detroit. We will be able to provide enough food for $14,000 worth of groceries, or about 8000 meals, going directly to those in need to put food on their table this holiday season,” said Kirk Mayes, CEO Forgotten Harvest.
