Contract Furniture Industry Veteran Paul Brayton Passes Away at 77

Mr. L. Paul Brayton, 77, founder and CEO of Brayton International and Brayton Textiles, recently passed away at the age of 77.
Paul Brayton has been in the contract furniture industry for over 40 years. He was the founder and CEO of Brayton International. After being purchased by Steelcase, Mr. Brayton served as President of the Steelcase Design Partnership for many years. He also founded Brayton Textiles, now called Paul Brayton Designs located in Archdale, NC, supplying textiles and furniture to the contract furniture markets. He was active in the High Point community and served on many boards, including the Bienenstock Furniture Library.
The family of Paul Brayton will be receiving guests on Friday, August 9th from 3:30 to 6:30 PM at the High Point Country Club. He and his wife were longtime supporters of the High Point Community Foundation and he has tasked his family with continuing their work. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed there or to the Parkinson’s Foundation at 200 SE 1st St. Suite 800 Miami, FL, 33131.
